Clinical observation enables us to attribute to acupuncture :
- a relaxing action on striated muscle;
- an anti-inflammatory action on the ligaments;
- an anxiolytic action;
- an antidepressant action;
- a decongestant action on the nasal mucous membrane, etc.
These types of actions allow us to treat, particularly, the medical problems mentioned in the list below.
We would like to point out that doctors attending the courses are perfectly able to apply all the proposed treatments by the end of the seminar.
In the psychological domain :
- depressions and reactional anxiety states*, as well as the very numerous resulting psychological and somatic symptoms**;
- insomnia**;
- bulimia**;
- tobacco severance**(due to the anti-anxiety action of acupuncture).
In the 'head and neck' area :
- neck pains*;
- cervico-brachial neuralgia;
- cervico-brachial neuralgia;
- postural vertigo;
- facial neuralgia;
- certain symptoms of the post-concussion syndromel;
- acute* and chronic** sinusitis, etc.
In the digestive area :
- many functional digestive problems**
In the area of problems related to the spinal column :
- common dorsalgia;
- intercostal neuralgia;
- false angina pectoris**;
- acute* and chronic** lumbago;
- non surgical sciatica, etc.
Other :
- sprained ankle*;
- knee pains**;
- nocturnal leg cramps;
- pain related to hallux valgus, etc.
The medical problems marked with one asterisk are those where a clear improvement has often been observed from the moment the needles are removed at the first session. Those accompanied by two asterisks are those where improvement has often been noted within the 24 hours following the first session.
Comments : :
1. It goes without saying that acupuncture is not intended for use in major organic pathologies such as neoplasia, neurological illnesses, infections (with the exception of sinusitis) etc.
2. The medical problems for which 'contemporary' acupuncture is recommended are the same as those for traditional acupuncture. |
